Optical coherence tomography for glaucoma diagnosis

Pearls Manager: Andrew Tatham

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) on its own does not provide a clinical diagnosis of glaucoma, just a statistical result based on comparison of the measured parameters with the corresponding reference database of healthy eyes. An interpretation of the result in the context of all clinical data is mandatory. Diagnosis of glaucoma based only on OCT exam should be avoided.
